What are differences between single-wobble fiber laser welder and double-wobble one?

The biggest difference between single-wobble fiber laser welder and double-wobble laser welder is their movement method. Single-wobble is one-way linear motion, which means laser welding head can only move in one direction, therefore it is necessary to adjust welding angles during welding process to meet welding requirements. This mode is only suitable for small area welding as the requested skills to operators are relatively high.

Double-wobble laser welder is more flexible than single-wobble one, it can move in both horizontal direction and vertical direction, which makes it suitable for large-area welding and tasks that require smooth welding surface. The movement of double-wobble laser welder is more complicated, so experienced welding operators are needed in this case.

Except for movement modes, there is another difference between single-wobble laser welder and double-wobble laser welder – Application range. Single-wobble laser welding mode is suitable for small welding, like electronics, jewelry, etc… Due to relatively slow welding speed, single-wobble laser welder is applicable for relatively fine tasks. While double-wobble is more suitable for welding of big items, like auto building, steel construction, etc… that’s because double-wobble laser welder has higher welding speed.

It is noted the selection of single-wobble laser welder and double-wobble laser welder also depends on materials, if welded materials are thin, then single-wobble is more suitable. If the welded materials are relatively thick, then double-wobble is better.

In a word, the welding speed difference between single-wobble laser welding head and double-wobble laser welding head depends on detailed workload and complexity of welding techniques.
